POTATO BONDA

INGREDIENTS:
Potato – 3 (boiled and mashed)
Ginger – 2 teaspoons (chopped)
Garlic – 1 teaspoon (chopped)
Green Chilly – 5 nos (chopped)
Curry Leaves – 2 sprig
Turmeric Powder – ¼ teaspoon
Mustard seeds – ¼ teaspoon
Coconut oil – For Frying
Coriander Leaves – 1 tablespoon (chopped)
Salt – to taste
Water – 1 cup
Asafoetida powder – a pinch
Red Chilly Powder – 2 teaspoon
Gram Flour – 1 cup
Onion – 1
Urad Dal – 2 teaspoon
Rice flour – 2 tablespoon
Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon
PREPARATION:
Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and urad dal. Then put curry leaves and sliced onions. Saute it well for 3 minutes.
Then add the chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger into the pan. Saute it well.
Add turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon chilly powder, garam masala powder and mashed potatoes. And enough salt. Mix it well until it evenly mix.
Finally, add the chopped coriander leaves on it. Remove from the flame and keep it aside.
Take a bowl and combine gram flour, chilly powder, asafoetida powder, rice flour, salt and enough water to make smooth batter.
Take the potato masala and make small balls.
Then heat oil in a frying pan. Dip the potato balls in the batter one by one and deep fry the balls. Fry the balls until it turns golden brown color.
Tasty potato bonda is ready. Serve it hot with tomato sauce. And serve it as an evening snack.
