Ripe bananas-2

Thick jaggery syrup -2 cups

Dilute coconut milk – 2cups,

Thick coconutmilk -1 cup.

Small copra( Dried sections of the meat of the coconut) pieces- 2 tablespoons,cashew and Raisins- 1 tablespoon each.

Cardamom powder-1 teaspoon.



Steam the bananas,slit and remove the seeds from inside,and mash it. In a heavy bottomed pan or uruli put this mixture with the jaggery syrup and stir to mix well.When well blended add the 2nd milk,stir again till it starts to thicken.Now add the thick milk and after a quick stir add the copra,cashew and raisins fried in ghee to this.Finally add the cardamom powder and remove from fire.Payasam is ready.This can be had hot or cold.
