Covid diffusion decreases; Relief in the national capital, northern India, Maharashtra and Karnataka

Covid cases are declining sharply in the country. There has been a decline in Covid cases in North Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bihar, Gujarat and Bhopal. Karnataka, which had the highest number of confirmed cases last day, also saw a drop in the number of patients per day. Maharashtra, where the outbreak was most severe at the beginning of the third wave, also saw a significant decline.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia will meet health ministers from 10 states, including Delhi, today. The Covid situation in the states will be assessed at the meeting. Seventy-three percent of adults have completed vaccination. The center estimates that this will help reduce the intensity of the third wave.

Earlier, government sources had hinted that the spread of Covid in the country would come down by mid-February. According to the news agency, the number of patients will be reduced by February 15. In some metro cities, the number of cases has started declining. The sharp decline in the number of Covid patients in major cities is a relief. After a while in Delhi, the number of Covid cases dropped to less than 10,000 every day. Mumbai and Kolkata have less than 3,000 patients. At the same time, the Ministry of Health has directed states to report any discrepancies in airport inspections.
