Covaxin can also be injected into children; Recommended by the Expert Committee

Expert committee recommends that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin be given to children. The subject expert committee recommended that the vaccine be given to children between the ages of two and 18 years. Final approval should be passed from the Drug Controller General of India.

This is the second vaccine that children can use if approved. The three-dose vaccine for Sydus Cadillac was approved in August for children over 12 years of age. In September, Bharat Biotech completed trials to vaccinate people under 18 years of age.

The report was submitted to the DCGI in early October. Covaxin is injected in two doses at 20-day intervals. Covaxin, meanwhile, has not been approved by the World Health Organization for emergency use. On July 9, the company submitted its approval documents.
