BADAM HALWA

 

INGREDIENTS

Almonds (badam) – 1 cup

Ghee – ½ cup

Milk – ¾ cup

Wheat flour – 1 tablespoon

Sugar – ¾ cup

Saffron – A few strands

Cardamom – ½ teaspoon (powder)

 

PREPARATION:

Wash and soak the almonds in lots of water for few hours. Peel off the skin.

After rinsing it. Add almonds, sugar, cardamom, wheat flour, saffron and milk in a blender. Blend it until it turns thick paste.

Heat the pan with 2 tablespoons of ghee. After the ghee melts, add the paste to the pan. Keep stirring for a few minutes on medium flame. Add all the ghee except 2 teaspoons and cook, stirring continuously on low flame. Cook till the Halwa thickens. When it reaches a desired consistency, remove from the heat.

Transfer it to a greased container and garnish it with fried almonds.

Cut it into desired shapes. Serve it hot. It is very delicious.
