WhatsApp Rolls Out New Features Across Chats, Calls, and Updates
WhatsApp has introduced a wide range of new features across Chats, Calls, and Updates ahead of the holiday season. One of the most notable additions is “missed call messages,” a feature that lets users leave a voice or video note when a call goes unanswered—effectively replacing traditional voicemails. The platform has also launched animated stickers for voice chats and upgraded group calls by automatically highlighting whichever participant is speaking.
The app is further enhancing Meta AI’s role within WhatsApp by adding improved AI image-generation capabilities, powered by Midjourney and Flux models. These upgrades make creating visual content—such as holiday greetings—much more seamless. Users can also animate photos into short videos using simple text prompts, expanding creative possibilities directly inside the app.
In the Updates tab, WhatsApp now supports new status stickers, music lyrics, questions, and interactive elements. WhatsApp Channels have also been upgraded to let followers submit questions, improving engagement for creators and admins. Desktop users on Mac, Windows, and Web will now see a new media tab that consolidates links, documents, and media for easier navigation and access.
