Maggi Crisis: Nestle’s Unhealthy Food Controversy
The Maggi noodles crisis in 2015 emerged to be one of the biggest pubic relation hurdles for Nestle India, which came under fire after laboratories tested and found out that the two-minute instant noodles were unsafe and hazardous for human consumptions.
The world’s largest consumer food and beverages company Nestle is yet again facing the same criticism after an internal presentation revealed that a majority of its mainstream food and beverages portfolio are unhealthy.
The company stated that around 60 percent of its food and drinks portfolio- barring categories such as pet food, baby foods, and coffee- do not meet the recognised definition of health.
