UN lists JeM chief Masood Azhar as designated terrorist

Putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding India’s effort to convince the world how dangerous some hiding in its neighbouring country are, the United Nations has designated Jaish e Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist, accepting the Indian argument that he had involved in several terrorist activities.

The victory has finally come after nearly three attempts made prior to the latest failed to deliver the desired result.

Interestingly, China, which played a key role in blocking all previous attempts, has refrained from blocking the latest. It is the reason why the latest attempt has succeeded.

The west has openly supported India this time. Unlike the previous occasions, the west has taken initiative to implement the India’s decades-old request this time.

Recently, the European Union designated the JeM terrorist as a designated terrorist making it impossible for him to travel to the European continent and support any organisation operating in the continent.

There were reports that many western countries including the US were planning to impose similar restriction against the terrorist.

It is said that it is the pressure exerted by the west that has forced China to change its stand on this issue.
