Veteran Photographer Shivan Passed Away At The Age Of 89

Famous still photographer Shivan passed away at the age of 89. He died at his home in Thiruvananthapuram following a heart attack.

Apart from photography, he also made his mark in film, drama and documentaries. Sivasankaran Nair alias Sivan has captured the attention of many important moments of Kerala politics since the swearing in of the first EMS ministry. In 1959, Sivans established a studio near the Secretariat. Shiva made his film debut in 1972 with the film Swapnam and later made films like Yagam, Kochukochu Mohangal, Oruyatra and Kilivathil.

Photographers Santosh Sivan, Sangeeth Sivan and Sanjeev Sivan are his children. The funeral will be held in Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow afternoon.
