Spying for Pakistan; BSF Jawan Arrested

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (Gujarat ATS) arrested Mohammad Sajjad, a member of the Bhuj Battalion. The Gujarat ATS said that he was arrested for spying for Pakistan and passing on secret information through the WhatsApp. Two mobile phones and SIM cards were also seized from him.

The arrest was made at the BSF headquarters in Bhuj. Mohammad Sajjad hails from Salora in Rajouri district. He was deployed in Bhuj 74 BSF Battalion in July 2021. He joined the BSF in 2012. The reward for the espionage went to the accounts of his brother Wajid and his friend Iqbal.

It is alleged that he had given false personal information to the BSF. The date of birth given to the BSF was January 1, 1985. However, his passport states that he was born on January 30, 1985. ATS sources said a detailed investigation into the incident would be carried out.
