Sheena Bora murder case; Indrani Mukherjee released on bail after six-and-a-half years

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Indrani Mukerjea in the Sheena Bora murder case. Indrani Mukherjee has been released on bail after serving six and a half years in jail. The court said the trial would not end soon.

Peter Mukherjee, another accused in the case, has been out on bail since February 2020. A bench of Justices L Nageshwara Rao, BR Gawai and AS Bopanna passed the order on a special petition filed against the November 2021 order of the Bombay High Court.

The apex court bench also said that the case was based on circumstantial evidence. Sheena Bora, 24, was strangled to death in April 2012 with the help of her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamwar Rai.
