Reliance Announced its Master Franchise Agreement with 7-Eleven Inc in India
On Thursday, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) announced that it had signed a master franchise deal with 7-Eleven Inc (SEI) to open 7-Eleven convenience stores in India.
It further stated that the first 7-Eleven store will open in Andheri East, Mumbai, on Saturday, October 9, 2021. This would be followed by a rapid deployment in major neighbourhoods and commercial areas, initially across the Greater Mumbai cluster, according to the retail behemoth. The action comes only days after Future Retail, a subsidiary of the Future Group, announced that its franchise deal with the US-based convenience store chain to manage the outlets had expired.
With a rapid expansion strategy in the works, the company expects to be a substantial contribution to local employment and the development of a convenient food eco-system, according to the company.
