Radico Khaitan Resumes Gulf Exports as Regional Tensions Ease

Indian liquor company Radico Khaitan has resumed exports to Gulf markets after shipments were disrupted for nearly two months due to regional tensions in the Middle East. The company’s international business president, Sanjeev Banga, said exports gradually restarted in late April after no shipments were sent during March and most of April. The Gulf region remains a key market for premium spirits because of its large expatriate population and strong duty-free sales.

Radico, known for premium brands such as Rampur whisky and Jaisalmer gin, earns around 9% to 10% of its revenue from exports. Despite the temporary slowdown in the Middle East, the company reported record export sales for the financial year ended March 31, supported by growth in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and airport retail channels. Following reports of resumed Gulf shipments, Radico shares climbed over 3% in trading.

Managing Director Abhishek Khaitan said the company expects revenue growth of more than 15% this fiscal year along with improved profit margins. Demand for premium liquor brands such as Royal Ranthambore and Sangam continues to rise as consumers increasingly shift toward higher-end products. Khaitan noted that while regular liquor consumption has slowed, customers are opting for more refined and expensive beverages.
