High quality fake notes come from Pakistan, says NIA

In a high level meeting, the National Investigative Agency of India has shared the raising concern due to the continues flow of high quality fake notes from Pakistan to the country through Nepal and the western region of the country.

The agency has also expressed its concern about the flow of low quality fake notes from Bangladesh through the eastern region of the country.

The central government few years back demonetised the highest denomination banknotes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 to curb the flow of fake notes in the country.

Many high profile officers from almost all Indian states have participated in the aforesaid meeting.

The NIA has asked the officers to stay vigilant about the illegal activities of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh in the southern states of the country, like Karnataka and Kerala.

In the meeting, the officers have also discussed the Khalistani activities. The NIA has observed that the pro-Khalistani activities have increased in the country lately.
