Indian Home Services Startup Pronto Raises $20 Million as Valuation Doubles

Indian instant home services startup Pronto has raised an additional $20 million in its Series B funding round, doubling its valuation to $200 million within just two months. The investment came from venture capitalist Lachy Groom and follows Pronto’s earlier $25 million funding round in March backed by investors including General Catalyst, Epiq Capital, Glade Brook Capital, and Bain Capital Ventures.

The Bengaluru-based platform offers on-demand services such as home cleaning, laundry, and kitchen preparation starting at 125 rupees, with workers available within 15 minutes. Pronto competes with rivals including Urban Company and Snabbit in India’s fast-growing home services market. CEO Anjali Sardana said the company has seen bookings surge from 3,000 per day in December to over 26,000 daily orders, making workforce expansion a top priority.

Pronto is also expanding into newer services such as car washing, gardening, and home-cooked meal assistance. Despite heavy customer discounts and competitive pressure, the company says it has reduced cash burn per booking by 55% in the last quarter. Industry analysts believe the sector will continue witnessing aggressive spending and discounting over the next few years as startups compete to build customer loyalty and market share.
