PM Modi Flags Off Four New Vande Bharat Trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi, marking another milestone in India’s expanding high-speed rail network. The new routes are designed to enhance regional connectivity while cutting travel time significantly, linking major cultural, industrial, and commercial centers across the country.

The trains will operate on the Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes. Each route has been strategically planned to connect key regions—Khajuraho’s UNESCO-listed heritage sites, the pilgrim hubs of Haridwar and Varanasi, the commercial centers of Punjab and Delhi, and the southern technology corridor between Kerala and Karnataka. With faster schedules and improved comfort, the services are expected to benefit both daily commuters and long-distance travelers.

These new Vande Bharat trains symbolize India’s progress toward modern, efficient, and sustainable rail travel. They will not only reduce journey times by up to several hours but also strengthen economic and tourism links among multiple states. By integrating speed, convenience, and technology, the initiative underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to transforming public transportation nationwide.
