Nike Launches India-Specific Running Shoe
Nike has unveiled its first running shoe designed specifically for India, named Vegam Run, as it seeks to expand its presence in the country amid slowing sales in other major markets. The shoe will launch on Flipkart on November 1, 2026, priced at ₹3,795 (around $40).
The launch comes as India experiences a running boom, with Nike also planning to establish a new campus in the country. CEO Elliott Hill is banking on locally tailored products and an improved product lineup to drive growth and strengthen the brand’s position in the Indian market.
Meanwhile, Nike faces continued challenges in China, where sales have declined for nine consecutive quarters. Its shares have fallen more than 40% so far in 2026. However, its global running business remains a bright spot, recording double-digit growth for six consecutive quarters.
