Nestlé India Rejects Maggi Infestation Allegations

Nestlé India has strongly denied allegations that insects were found in Maggi noodles, following reports that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had issued a notice over the matter. In a clarification submitted to stock exchanges, the company said it has not yet received the complaint sample and that attempts to contact the complainant, linked to an unverified social media account, have been unsuccessful.

The company stated that extensive quality checks were conducted on both batch samples and products sourced from the market. These samples were tested by an FSSAI-accredited laboratory, which confirmed that there was no infestation. Nestlé India said it has already submitted detailed quality records, laboratory reports, and supporting evidence to the relevant authorities as part of its response.

Reaffirming its commitment to strict food safety and quality standards, Nestlé India said there are currently no regulatory or legal proceedings related to the issue. The company also clarified that there are no undisclosed developments affecting its business and expressed confidence that the submitted evidence will establish the facts and resolve the matter.
