NDA likely to strike the magic number in Rajya Sabha by 2021

The latest developments indicate that if the NDA continues to move in this pace it will strike the magic number of 124 in the Rajya Sabha by the year 2021.

At present, the NDA, which is led by the BJP, has as many as 102 lawmakers in the Upper House. At this moment, the NDA is just 22 seats shorter than winning a majority in the Rajya Sabha.

Actually, it is the lack of a clear majority of the NDA in the Upper House that has obstructed some of the key bills of the NDA 1st, such as the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and the Triple Talaq Bill.

Anyway, the factor that will determine whether the NDA will win a majority by the year 2021 is the upcoming Assembly Elections in Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.

If the political wave continues to move in the direction in which the wave has been moving since the emergence of the NDA in the year 2014, nothing can stop the triumph of the NDA. If that is the case, noting can stop the saffron from winning a majority in the Upper House.

This year alone, around eight seats are going to get vacant. The BJP-led NDA will definitely win some of them.

Actually, the biggest attrition is going to happen in the year 2020, in which around 72 seats will become vacant. The NDA will definitely win the majority of those seats.

Notably, the main opposition party Congress will not be the biggest looser that time. Those who will suffer biggest injuries that time will be the regional parties such as the BSP and the SP.
