AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija Rahman gets married to Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, celebs shower love: ‘Beautiful couple’

Khatija Rahman, AR Rahman’s daughter, recently married audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed. “May the Almighty bless the couple… thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love,” he wrote alongside a family photo from the nikaah ceremony on Instagram.

The newlyweds can be seen in the photo with AR Rahman, his wife Saira Banu, and their other two children, Raheema and Ameen. A portrait of Rahman’s mother, Kareema Rahman, is also displayed on the side.

In addition, Khatija Rahman shared a photo with her husband, Riyasdeen Shaikh Mohamed. “This is the most anticipated day of my life.” She wrote, “Married to my man @riyasdeenriyan.”

In the comments section, a number of celebrities and Rahman’s peers wished the couple well. “Hearty congratulations @khatija.rahman @riyasdeenriyan,” singer Shreya Ghoshal wrote. “May God bless the lovely couple.” Khatija and Riyasdeen were also wished by Harshdeep Kaur and Neeti Mohan.

In December 2021, Khatija Rahman married Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed, an audio engineer and aspiring entrepreneur. Only close friends and family members were present at the ceremony, which was held in private.

Khatija has performed a few Tamil songs, including Enthiran’s “Pudhiya Manidha” (Robot). AR Rahman received backlash in 2019 after his daughter Khatija wore a niqab to the Slumdog Millionaire 10th anniversary celebration. As a result, her ‘conservative’ attire was criticised by many. Rahman retweeted a photo of his two daughters and wife with the caption “freedom to choose” in response to the trolls.
