IndiGo Resumes Flights to Key International Destinations Amid West Asia Tensions
IndiGo has begun operating flights to Athens, Muscat, Jeddah, and Madinah, along with select repatriation services to the UAE, as it gradually restores connectivity on routes disrupted by the ongoing Iran-related regional conflict. The airline said previously announced services have now commenced after operational conditions improved and necessary approvals were received, marking a step toward normalising international travel affected by airspace restrictions.
The carrier emphasised that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority and stated it may increase repatriation flight frequency to the UAE to assist travellers stranded due to earlier cancellations. IndiGo urged passengers to check flight status updates and wait for official confirmation before heading to airports, as schedules remain subject to changing security and airspace conditions.
Flights across several Middle East destinations had been temporarily suspended due to evolving regional risks linked to the US-Israel-Iran conflict. Other Indian airlines also adjusted operations, with Air India diverting its Delhi–Tel Aviv service after Israeli airspace closures and Air India Express suspending westbound international flights. Airlines said future service resumptions will depend on regional security developments and aviation approvals.
