Glittering performance in Tokyo; Vandana Kataria receives grand rewards from Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand government recognizes Indian women’s hockey player Vandana Kataria at Tokyo Olympics. She has been appointed as the State Women and Child Development Ambassador. The announcement was made by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The government will also give a prize of Rs 25 lakh for the performance in Tokyo.

Uttarakhand Education Minister visits Vandana’s family When they lost in the Olympics semis, a group of people went to Vandana’s house and insulted her. Following the defeat, two upper castes approached Vandana’s house, set off firecrackers and made offensive gestures. According to the family’s complaint, the Indian team lost because there were too many dalit players.

It was done by two members of the upper caste in the village itself. They danced and abused. As Vandana’s family members tried to fight this, they became more outraged and caste abused, ‘said Vandana’s brother Sekhar.

The Indian women’s hockey team lost the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. India lost to Britain 3-4 in the bronze medal match. The Indian women have the best finish in the history of the Olympics. Vandana Kataria scored India’s third goal of the match.
