Former TN chief secretary Rama Rao makes shocking revelation about ‘Gutkha Scam’
Puncturing the Tamil Nadu government’s stand in the Madras High court that no official report on the Gutkha Scam was available, the former TN chief secretary, P Rama Mohana Rao, has revealed to an national daily that he, while serving as the chief secretary, received an official report regarding the infamous scam.
He has further claimed that he informed the details of the report, which revealed the involvement of some corrupted politicians and officials in allowing the sale of banned tobacco products in the capital city of Tamil Nadu, to the former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
He has also asserted that the late CM wanted to take strict action against all those people who were involved in the scam.
The former chief secretary has no doubt on one thing that the report was in his table when he left the office. The current stand of the government in the court generates serious suspicion.
The government must answer what happened to the sensitive report which was on the chief secretary’s table when he left the office.
Anyway, the top court of the state has ordered an enquiry into the missing report. More details are awaited.
