Film on PM Modi’s life to be released a day after the declaration of the GE result

A film based on the eventful life of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to be released a day after the declaration of the result of the latest general election (that is, on 23rd May).

Earlier, the Election Commission of India blocked the release of the film, as it found that it was unfair to release the film, which glorifies the lead campaigner of a political party in India, during the election.

The top court, though initially was not convinced by the ECI’s ban on the release of the film, also supported later the decision taken by the commission, which is responsible to conduct free and fair election in the country.

In the film, renowned Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi acts as the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Apart from Mr Oberoi, several popular actors including Zarina Wahab, Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Naryanan, Barkha Sengupta and Darshan Kumaar appear in the lead roles.

The film is directed by talented filmmaker Omung Kumar. The film is produced by Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit.

The main allegations against the film are that the film is created by those close to the BJP, and is aimed to boost the image of the Indian PM and his party.
