Welspun Wins $580 Million US Gas Pipeline Order

India’s Welspun Corp has secured an order worth approximately ₹55 billion ($580.3 million) through its US subsidiary to supply coated steel pipes for a natural gas pipeline project in the Permian Basin, a major oil-producing region in the United States. The project highlights the growing demand for energy infrastructure as technology companies expand their data centre operations.

According to Reuters, the pipeline will supply natural gas to a data centre complex operated by a leading hyperscaler, whose identity has not been disclosed. Data centre operators are increasingly seeking reliable natural gas supplies to meet their growing electricity requirements. The pipes will be manufactured by Welspun Tubular LLC, the company’s US subsidiary, with deliveries expected during fiscal 2029.

Welspun Corp manufactures large-diameter steel pipes for oil and gas transportation and operates in more than 50 countries, with additional businesses in building materials, infrastructure and industrial solutions. The latest contract comes as the company’s global order book reaches a record $5.25 billion, strengthening its position in the international energy infrastructure market.
