Vande Bharat Train Hits 180 kmph Mark During Trials

During a test run on Friday, India’s Vande Bharat Express train went over the 180 kph speed limit.
Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw announced on Twitter that the VandeBharat-2 speed trial had begun between the Kota-Nagda line at 120, 130, 150, and 180 kph.

Washing and cleaning were done in the washing pit during the Vande Bharat train’s initial inspection. In addition, all of the train’s instruments and panels were examined. On the Kota-Nagda railway segment, Vande Bharat’s speed trial was carried out at various speeds.

A prototype rake of 16 coaches from the train set was subjected to thorough oscillation tests by the RDSO team using a newly developed Vande Bharat train set, which has a top test speed of 180 kmph. Trials were undertaken in Kota Division in various stages. Phase I trial was conducted between Kota and Ghat ka Barana, followed by Phase II between Ghat ka Barana and Kota, Phase III between Kurlasi and Ramganj Mandi, Phase IV and V between Kurlasi and Ramganj Mandi, and Phase VI between Kurlasi, Ramganj Mandi, and Laban.

Many times during this period, the speed exceeded 180 kmph. The entire Vande Bharat train is made in India. It runs at a semi-high pace. Because it lacks a separate engine, the Vande Bharat train is a self-propelled engine train. It boasts automatic doors, air-conditioned chair coaches, and a rotating chair with a 180-degree range of motion.
