Noida Twin Towers’ Demolition Tomorrow, Preparations In Final Leg
Authorities are making final inspections of the explosives and other preparations with less than a day till the Supertech Twin Towers in Noida are demolished. The destruction will start tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. According to project officials, more than 3,700 kg of explosives have been attached to and placed around the twin buildings. Today, the connections are being given one last inspection.
The twin towers need to be connected, and a wire running 100 metres between them and the exploder needs to be installed. The location where the destruction would start on Sunday is the exploder.Following a Supreme Court ruling that deemed the two towers’ construction within the grounds of the Emerald Court society to be in breach of standards, the Mumbai-based company Edifice Engineering has been given the duty of dismantling them.
People have already begun packing up their stuff and leaving neighbouring societies. By 7 am on Sunday, around 5,000 inhabitants of Emerald Court and the surrounding ATS Village communities are expected to vacate their homes for the day.
Only after 7 am tomorrow, when all the societies in the area have left, will the wire from the explosive to the 100-meter-tall illegal twin towers be laid.
From Sunday morning while the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway was closed, detours would be put in place on the routes leading to the twin skyscrapers in Sector 93A of Noida. Over 400 people have been sent to the Noida police, and they will be stationed there tomorrow.
