Suryakumar Yadav ruled out of IPL 2022
Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians (MI) has been ruled out of the IPL 2022 season due to a left forearm muscle injury, according to an IPL press release issued on Monday. On May 6, Yadav was injured during the team’s match against Gujarat Titans.
He scored 303 runs at an average of 43.29 in eight matches for the Mumbai Indians this season, including three half centuries.
This effectively eliminates him from Monday’s match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, who look like a sinking ship ahead of a rather insignificant match against the bottom-placed Mumbai Indians, who will have their tails up even if they are already out of contention.
KKR is coming off a 75-run thrashing at the hands of table-toppers Lucknow Super Giants, as part of their constant chopping and changing strategy this season, which backfired spectacularly.
While MI is coming off a five-run victory over the Gujarat Titans, who are currently in second place.
MI has already been eliminated from the playoff race, as they have only four points from ten games, and even if they win all of their remaining games, they will only have 12 points, far short of what is required to advance to the next stage.
