Six Weeks Later, Mumbai Man Arrested For Peeing On Woman On Plane

Shankar Mishra, a Mumbai resident who intoxicatedly peed on an elderly woman on an Air India aircraft in November, was apprehended late on Friday night in Bengaluru by the Delhi police and brought back to the capital, according to reports. A watch notice or airport alert was issued to try to find him because he was running away.

After receiving some “solid” leads regarding Shankar Mishra’s whereabouts, the Delhi police sent a squad to Bengaluru, Karnataka, in an effort to apprehend him.

Despite turning off his phone, he continued to use social media to connect with his buddies, which allowed the police to track him down, according to top police sources.

According to sources, Mishra, 34, has used his credit/debit card at least once.

On November 26, an Air India flight from New York to Delhi was accused of having Shankar Mishra urinate on an elderly passenger while his pants were unfastened. Later, he begged the woman not to call the police and say something about him since it would affect his wife and child.

Air India just made a police report this week, claiming that because “no additional flare-up or altercation” occurred and because the crew “elect[ed] not to notify law enforcement upon landing, following the apparent wishes of the female passenger. Mishra was prohibited from flying for 30 days, which outraged social media users who claimed it was insufficient.

Following considerable outrage and anger, Air India representatives and the flight’s crew have been asked to explain how they handled the event.

The airline crew has been threatened with harsh penalty by the aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), if they do not intervene to control disruptive or improper passengers.
