Rain batters Kerala

Incessant rain has affected the lives of the people of the Indian state of Kerala severely. The rainfall has badly disrupted the transport facilities in the state. Minor power failures have also been reported in certain regions. Red alert has been sounded in at least four districts in the state. The most affected is the northern districts. The districts like Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kasargod have been badly affected due to rain. Apart from the northern districts, the hill district of Idukki is the one which has faced the negative impact of rain. The rainfall the state is now experiencing is the effect of the second phase of the South West monsoon. Heavy wind has been reported in several regions of the state. Another major issue is landslide. It has also been reported in several regions especially hilly regions. Rescue operators have been deployed in all the affected regions to help the people in the regions.

Kerala is not the only state which is suffering from rainfall at this moment. The things are not different in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Heavy rain has brought havoc in there two states too.

It is expected that the things will go back to normal in the coming days.
