Second or final phase of Gujarat election begins
The second or final phase of the crucial Gujarat Legislative Assembly election has marked its beginning at 9 a.m. today.
In this final phase, the elections are taking place in nearly fourteen districts. At least 851 candidates are participating in the election.
While speaking to the media personals, a political expert has said that the voters would decide the future of nearly 93 constituencies today.
He has asserted that the majority of the constituencies are likely to witness though competition. He has claimed that though the BJP has strong cadre base in the preponderance of the constituencies, the congress has achieved prominence in at least half of the constituencies towards the end of the election campaign with the support of Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakor.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Junior Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja and Health Minister Shankar Chaudhary are the three main BJP candidates participating in this second phase of assembly election.
Meanwhile, from the opposition side, Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakor, two of the three catalysts of the opposition camp, are the prominent figures who are testing their fortune in the election.
The election result, which will decide the future of the state and two national parties, will be declared on Saturday.
