Second massacre in 24 hours in Punjab on charges of blasphemy
Another massacre in Punjab on charges of blasphemy. The second incident took place within twenty-four hours. The government has appointed a special team to investigate the incident. The RSS condemned the incident and demanded that the conspiracy behind it be exposed.
The next shocking incident comes hours after a young man was beaten to death by a mob yesterday for allegedly interfering with religious ceremonies at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. A 20-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob at a Gurudwara in Kapurthala for blasphemy. The mob started attacking the youth, accusing him of insulting the Sikh flag. Police arrived at the spot and took him into custody, but the mob insisted on questioning him at the Gurudwara. More people then attacked in front of the police. The attack was carried out with large sticks.
The young man died on arrival at the hospital. The SIT has been asked to submit a report on the incident within two days. Punjab DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay said he would strongly oppose any attempt to disrupt law and order. Police have not yet released the details of those killed in the mob attack.
