Schools can operate under local regulations; it is up to the state government to decide
The central government has said that state governments can decide on the opening of schools and coaching centers. Schools can operate depending on local regulations. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told the Lok Sabha that the Center had already stated its position on the issue.
Kerala State Education Minister V Sivankutty had today said that the schools would be reopened in phases with the permission of the central government and various agencies responsible for Covid control.
The minister made this clear during the question and answer session in the assembly. This is the first time since the expansion of Covid that the government has indicated the possibility of opening schools.
