Royal Enfield to Invest ₹22 Billion in New Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Plant
Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has announced plans to invest nearly ₹22 billion ($232.24 million) in setting up a new manufacturing facility in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The company, owned by Eicher Motors, said the project will be developed in two phases, with the first phase expected to be completed by 2029 and the second by 2032. This marks Royal Enfield’s first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu.
The upcoming facility is expected to add nearly 900,000 units to the company’s current annual production capacity of around 1.46 million motorcycles, as recorded at the end of February. The expansion comes amid growing demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles in both domestic and international markets, strengthening the brand’s long-term manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
The investment is also expected to create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and employment sectors. The state has increasingly emerged as a preferred destination for large-scale investments, attracting global and domestic corporations including Google, Reliance Industries, and Adani Group in recent years.
