Raveena Tandon On Broken Engagement To Akshay Kumar: “Forgotten About It”
In a recent interview with ANI, Raveena Tandon discussed Akshay Kumar, who still pops up when she searches for her name some 25 years after the breakup. Co-stars of movies like Mohra Raveena and Akshay dated and got engaged briefly in the middle to late 1990s before calling it quits.
But it’s still a popular search topic, as Raveena noted in the interview: “It comes up, and it comes up like there’s a war between everyone whom he’s involved with. Hello, once I had moved out of his life, I was already dating someone else, and he was already dating someone else, so kahan se jealousy ayegi (why would anyone be jealous)?”
Raveena and Akshay’s engagement is essentially history. She was questioned about the year and said, “Forgotten about it.”
Life has moved on for everyone involved. Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle Khanna also have a son and daughter, and Raveena Tandon married Anil Thadani in 2004. “We were a hit pair, during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal,” Raveena told ANI.
Known for her work in critically acclaimed films like Daman, Shool, and Satta in addition to commercial successes like Mohra, Dilwale, Laadla, and Dulhe Raja, Raveena Tandon was one of the top stars of the 1990s. This year’s recipient of the Padma Shri was Raveena, who appeared in the web series Aranyak last year.
