Rajasthan Government Sanctions ₹ 200 Crore For Free Sanitary Napkins To Women

According to state minister Mamta Bhupesh, the Rajasthan government has allocated 200 crore in the 2022–23 budget to provide free sanitary products to women and girls.

The state-wide implementation of the “I Am Shakti Udan” programme is happening in phases, according to Mamta Bhupesh, the minister for women’s and children’s development.

She informed the assembly that Rajasthan is the first state in the nation to implement such a plan on a wide scale.

The size of the free sanitary pads distributed to women and girls in rural regions has not changed, she claimed. 200 crore have been budgeted for the programme in the fiscal year 2022–2023, according to Mamta Bhupesh.

According to the minister, supply orders have been issued to deliver free sanitary napkins to more than 1.15 crore beneficiaries in 60,361 anganwadis in 33 districts and 26.48 lakh beneficiaries in 34,104 public schools in the state.

Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation Limited (RMSCL) has donated free sanitary products to 31,255 anganwadi centres and 26,220 schools throughout the course of the past year. RMSCL has spent a total of 104.78 crore on this, according to her.
