Rain batters Mumbai
Severe rain has affected the common people in Mumbai. It has badly disrupted the road, rail and air transportation facilities. The rescue operators have been called into to help the affected people. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that certain region in the Indian state of Maharashtra like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane would experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. As per a report, the authorities have arranged everything necessary to bring down the intensity of the crisis.
Lately, the recue operators have been called in to rescue the passengers of a train who are stranded in a remote village in the region.
Several trains have cancelled their services. As per a latest update, the railway will resume its services once the situation comes under control.
Similarly, several flights to Mumbai have also been cancelled. The cancellations have severely affected many passengers.
Notably, the Mondak Sagar lake, which is one of the seven lakes which supply water to the people of Mumbai, and which is the second largest lake which supply water to the peopleof Mumbai, started overflowing since last evening. Actually, it is main reason why the railway cannot resume their service at the moment. The overflow has also affected the road transport also.
