Provocative reference; Delhi Police has registered a case against Owaisi following Nupur Sharma

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has also been charged with provocative speech. Swami Yati Narasimhanand’s name was also included in the FIR registered by the Delhi Police for provocative remarks. The Delhi Police has registered a case against a number of people following a controversy over the remarks made by suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma about the Prophet.

The case was registered against several people, including Nupur Sharma, Naveen Jindal, who was ousted by the BJP, and journalist Sawa Naqvi. The case was registered in two FIRs. The first FIR involved Nupur Sharma and the second Naveen Jindal, Shadab Chauhan, Sab Naqvi, Maulana Mufti Nadeem, Abdur Rehman, Gulzar Ansari and Anil Kumar Meena. Police have registered a case against Nupur Sharma under sections 153, 295 and 505.

Both cases are being investigated by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police. Following Nupur Sharma’s remarks, police wrote to Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms seeking details of controversial comments posted on social media.
