Manohar Parrikar becomes star campaigner in UP
After the famous surgical strike, our Defence minister, Manohar Parrikar, has suddenly became BJP’s star campaigner in Uttar Pradesh, where an assembly election is going to take place early next year. As we all know, presently our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP supremo, Amit Shah, are the top campaigners and crowd-pullers in the events conducted by the BJP’s UP state unit. Notably, on the crucial Dussehra day, the posters congratulating the Defence Minister and Prime Minister for the surgical strike sprung up across the poll-bound state. Moreover, the Defence Minister has participated in a Dussehra event held at Lucknow. The opposition parties allege that the central government is trying to cash in on the surgical strike actually conducted by the brave and courageous soldiers of Indian Army. The surgical strike performed by the Indian Army was the first strong response to the Uri attack, in which nearly eighteen innocent Indian soldiers were brutally killed by the Pakistani terrorists. The surgical strike has evoked appreciation as well as controversies. Initially, the main opposition party, congress party, and other major parties wholeheartedly supported the Indian Army. But, later, fearing that the surgical strike may give political mileage to the central government, some members of the congress party and the AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, asked for the proof of surgical strike. That reaction was strongly shattered by the ruling government evoking intense national feeling. Anyway, now, it is undoubtedly clear that the BJP or its regional branches will definitely utilise the opportunity.
