Kerala CM stages protest in National Capital against Railway Ministry

prkfnj

Few days after the Railway Ministry clarified that the ministry had no intention to take forward the proposed coach factory project in the Kerala’s northern district of Palakkad, the Chief Minister of the state, Pinarayi Vijayan, has staged protest in front of the Rail Bhavan in Delhi demanding that the ministry should drop its plan to scrap the proposed project in the Gods Own Country.

Though the ministry, to deny the claim for the coach factory in Kerala, earlier claimed that there was no need of a new coach factory for the railway as they could manage their production requirements with the existing production facilities, it decided to grant such factories in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh –the states which are politically important for the party which rules the central government.

Anyway, the protest launched by the Kerala CM may urge the central government to reconsider its plan. Several leftist parliamentarians from the state have joined the Kerala Chief Minister to express their reservation against the ministry’s plan.

Some Kerala lawmakers have alleged that the central government had derailed several development projects and was showing a hostile attitude towards the southernmost state of Kerala.

Has the central government flouted the federal spirit of the nation?
