Kamalpreet Kaur in the final of the discus throw

Women’s discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur in the final of the Olympic Athletics. Kamalpreet qualified for the final by covering a distance of 64.00 meters in the qualifying round. The Indian finished second in the qualifying round.

Kamalpreet is second only to Valerie (66.42) of the United States. After the qualifying marks of 64 meters, only Kamalpreet and Valari made it to the final. The final will be held on Monday at 4.30 pm. Seema Poonia, meanwhile, was eliminated from the final. A distance of 60.57 could only be found.

It is a day of great hope for India, which is awaiting its third medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Superstar PV Sindhu will compete in the badminton semis and Pujarani in the boxing quarterfinals today. The qualifying match of Malayalee long jumper M Sreesankar will be held in the afternoon.
