‘This public life is your choice’; Shilpa Shetty seeks Rs 25 crore from media for defamation

The Bombay High Court has ruled that news of Raj Kundra’s wife and actress Shilpa Shetty in connection with a pornographic video production case involving Raj Kundra cannot be denied. The court observed that Shilpa had filed a defamation suit against the media for publishing such news.

In a petition filed on Thursday, Shilpa sought a ban on news about herself on social media platforms in addition to the media. Shilpa also demanded Rs 25 crore in damages from the media for giving defamatory news.

But the court, which heard the petition, accepted it on file. It has now been clarified that the Interim Stay cannot be given in publishing news. Justice Gautam Patil, who heard the case, said the news was part of media freedom and the reports were from the police. He also commented that there was nothing defamatory in this.

In the petition, Shilpa says that the news that Shilpa Shetty exploded at Raj Kundra when the police took Raj Kundra home for evidence is not true. Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer Baron Sharf objected in court. The lawyer argued that a private incident between wife and husband could never be reported.

However, he pointed out that the incident took place in front of the police and the news was quoted from them. Shilpa chose a life of publicity. Your life will be monitored through a microscope. According to the report, she cried and had an argument with her husband. What a disgrace it is. That proves they are a woman, ”the judge said.

Meanwhile, some media outlets and YouTube channels have withdrawn some videos related to Shilpa Shetty’s news. This was after Shilpa approached the Bombay High Court.
