Kamal Haasan set to launch political party today
Tamil Nadu film actor Kamal Haasan is set to launch his political party today in a public meeting, which is scheduled to take place at the cultural capital of state -Madurai.
Madurai, the state which is regarded as the birthplace of Sangam literature, is a prominent state in terms of its political significance and its cultural prominence.
It was once the bastion of actor-turned politician MGR. It was those emerged from this land which helped ‘Anna’ to wrist the top post of the state.
Several times, in the past, it hosted the inauguration of political parties. Vijayakant, the actor-turned politician, was one of the popular politicians who entered into the turbulent territory of Tamil Nadu politics with the blessing of ‘Maduraikarans’.
In the function, which is scheduled to take place in the temple city, the actor, who is popularly known as ‘Ulakanayakan’, will unveil his party’s flag officially.
The actor, who sought the blessing of Rajni Kanth, another famous superstar who launched a political party to leverage the political vacuum formed in the Tamil Nadu politics after the unexpected demise of charismatic ‘amma’ J Jayalalithaa, has met the family members of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
