Kamal Haasan meets AR Rahman at Cannes 2022, to launch Vikram in Metaverse

At the Cannes Film Festival, Tamil filmmaker and actor Kamal Haasan was seen with Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman. He also met with members of India’s delegation who represented the country’s diverse entertainment industry.

Rahman shared a photo of himself and Kamal at the Cannes Film Festival. While Rahman is a member of the official delegation to Cannes, India was named the ‘country of honour’ at the festival’s commercial chapter, the Marche du Cinema. The members of the delegation were hand-picked by the government to highlight the country’s thriving regional film industries.

Kamal attended Cannes as an individual to promote his upcoming film Vikram. “Vikram explores the Metaverse. “Vikram NFTs on http://Vikram.vistaverse.io will be revealed today at Cannes Film Festival 2022,” he tweeted from Cannes on Wednesday.

Vikram, written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is Tamil cinema’s biggest ever multi-starrer film. For this film, Lokesh has assembled a large all-star cast that includes Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil. The filmmakers recently revealed that Suriya has a key cameo role in the film during the grand audio and trailer launch of the film in Chennai.

Vikram will be released in multiple languages on June 3rd. Kamal has already begun promoting the film across various platforms in order to ensure a strong opening. The film has a lot of buzz because it marks Kamal’s return to the big screen after a four-year absence.
