Jubilant FoodWorks Profit Jumps on Strong Domino’s Demand and Store Expansion

Jubilant FoodWorks reported a sharp 66.2% rise in fourth-quarter profit, driven by strong demand for Domino’s Pizza and continued store expansion across India. The company, which also operates Popeyes outlets in the country, posted a profit of 797.9 million rupees for the quarter ended March 31, compared to 480 million rupees a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 19.3% to nearly 25 billion rupees, supported by higher order volumes and new store openings.

The company has focused on affordable pricing, discounts, and faster deliveries to attract customers amid rising competition in India’s quick-service restaurant (QSR) market. Delivery order volumes for Domino’s India grew in the high teens, helped by initiatives such as lower free-delivery thresholds, cashback offers, and zero packaging charges in select markets. However, these promotional strategies also reduced average order values and added pressure on margins.

Despite the strong profit growth, analysts noted that same-store sales growth at Domino’s India remained weaker than expected. Jubilant added 69 new stores during the quarter, taking its total outlet count to 3,636. The results come as QSR chains across India continue battling cautious consumer spending and intense competition, with rivals like Devyani International also relying on discounts and value meals to drive customer traffic.
