India’s iPhone Exports Cross ₹2 Trillion Mark on PLI Boost
India’s iPhone exports surged to a record ₹2 trillion in FY26, marking a major milestone in the final year of the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. The achievement makes Apple Inc. the country’s largest branded exporter, underlining the rapid scale-up of local manufacturing and global supply integration.
Smartphone exports from India reached around ₹2.6 trillion during the fiscal year, with iPhones contributing over 75% of the total. This placed smartphones among the top export categories, ahead of traditional sectors such as diamonds and pharmaceuticals. The growth highlights India’s emergence as a key global manufacturing hub, supported by strong policy incentives and expanding supplier networks.
The surge has been driven by manufacturing partners like Foxconn and Tata Electronics, alongside a growing ecosystem of domestic and international suppliers. Employment across Apple’s India operations has also expanded significantly, with a large share of the workforce comprising women, reinforcing the broader economic impact of the country’s electronics manufacturing push.
