Heavy rain hits Kerala;Red alert declared at four districts

Heavy rain has frightened the people of Kerala, four died and three got missing including two fishermen from Tamil Nadu. Red alert has been announced at Kasargod, Idukki, Kozhikode and Kannur till tuesday.

The body of one of the fishermen, Sahayaraju (55) from Tamil Nadu was found from Kollam district. And the other two fishermen swam safely, said the coastal police. The Navy fetched the body of Maneesh Sebastian who found missing at the Meenachilar river Kottayam. The Indian Meterological department(IMD) warned the fishermen from drifting into the sea.

At Kannur and Kasargod district it has forecasted extreme heavy rain on Tuesday. At Kasargod, the northernmost part was recorded 9cm rainfall and whereas some other places at Kannur received 9.7cm rain. It has declared holiday for all the educational institutions including the professional colleges of Kannur and Kozhikode by the district administration on Monday.

Kerala had faced the worst flood ever in the year 2018.Many homes were devasted and thousands were displaced. The people of Kerala is still under the trauma of the disaster.
