Former speaker inducted as Goa CM

Former speaker Pramod Sawant, who is regarded as one of the most powerful leaders of the BJP in the Indian state of Goa, has been inducted as the new Chief Minister of Goa, hours after the demise of BJP stalwart Manohar Parrikar, who was handling the position until his death, altering, in favour of the BJP, all calculations made by the Congress to win back its lost prominence in the state, in which the BJP has been ruling since the emergence of Mr Parrikar into the central stage of the state politics.

Noteworthy, it cannot be assumed that the Grand Old Party’s efforts aimed to alter the political equation of the state have not affected the Saffron Party in any manner. Actually, it has affected slightly. It has reflected clearly when the BJP has allowed two of its collation partners to get inducted as the deputy CMs along with its CM nominee.

Sudin alias Ramkirshna Dhavlikar (Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party) and Vijai Sardesai (Goa Forward Party) are those two lucky fellows, who have won a golden opportunity to enter the Goa government as the Deputy Chief Ministers due to the political turmoil the Grand Old Party tactically created post the demise of the BJP leader, who was holding the CM’s post.
