For Visas For Indians, A Big Change From Saudi Arabia

Indian nationals can now apply for a Saudi visa without having to present a police clearance certificate. In light of the “strong relations and strategic relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India,” the Saudi embassy in India tweeted, the requirement for Indians to acquire a police clearance certificate has been eliminated from the visa requirements.

The Saudi decision to do away with police clearance for visas will have an immediate positive impact on application processing times, tour operator management, and the number of documents that travellers must deal with.

“In view of the strong relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India, the Kingdom has decided to exempt the Indian nationals from submitting a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC),” the Saudi embassy in India tweeted.

“…The embassy appreciates the contribution of over two million Indian citizens living peacefully in the kingdom,” the embassy said in a statement. This month, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman was scheduled to travel to India to meet with Narendra Modi. However, the visit was postponed because of scheduling concerns. He was travelling to Bali, Indonesia, the site of the G20 summit.
