Film Critics Awards Announced; ‘Great Indian Kitchen’ best film
The 45th Film Critics Awards have been announced. ‘Great Indian Kitchen’, directed by Geo Baby and produced by Diego Augustine Jomon Jacob, Vishnu Rajan and Sebin Raj, is the best film. Siddharth Siva, who directed ‘Ennivar’, is the best director.
Prithviraj and Biju Menon shared the Best Actor award for their performance in Ayyappanum Koshyum. The Best Actress award was shared by Surabhilakshmi (Jwalamukhi) and Samyuktha Menon (Wolf, Aanum and Pennum, Vellam).
KG George for his comprehensive contributions to cinema was honored with the Film Ratna Award. Mamukoya, Bindu Panicker and Saikumar won the Film Talent Award. Critics Ruby Jubilee Award presented to director K Harikumar for completing 40 years in the industry.
This is the only film award in Kerala where after the state award, the jury decides on the film by inviting applications. The awards were announced by Dr. George Onakkoor, President of the Association and Chairman of the Jury. Thekkinkad Joseph, Balan Thirumala, Dr. Aravindan Vallachira, Prof. Joseph Mathew Pala, Suku Palkulangara and A. Chandrasekhar were the members of the jury. A total of 34 films were considered by the jury.
